My First Attempt

Hello!!!

Y'all remember that post about the quilled portrait I did as a graduation gift?
Yeah, this one:

Well, that actually was my THIRD one.

The first one I made for a different cousin, K., and her fiancé.

Before we go forward, I feel like I should tell you some things.
This is something NEW.
No one has EVER made this kind of art before.
Not with paper strips like this!
I invented it myself.
That's right, all by myself.

You're witnessing history right here!

Anyway, I had this vision for what I thought this art style would
look like, and...my mom thought I was nuts.
I could tell she wasn't picturing the same thing as me.
So, I decided to give up...
Just kidding!
Just because she didn't see the vision doesn't mean it isn't possible.
I dove right in and started working.
If you want to see how I make these, you'll have to check out my post on it:

Here is the final result!
I would show some of the process, but I literally didn't take a SINGLE photo.
Whatever.
At least I have some photos of it finished!

IT'S SO CUTE!!!!!
It's EXACTLY what I wanted!
Or maybe EVEN BETTER THAN I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE!!!
YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

...

...ahem....

I based it off this photo, which I "stole" off their wedding website:

(aren't they so cute together?!?)

And I ended up with this!
The frame was PERFECTION.
Which was a blessing, because it was the only frame I had as an option, haha.

Right before I wrapped it up to gift it to my cousin,
(upon my mother's wise recommendation)
I ran out and did a photo shoot in the flowerbed!

This might be one of the best photos...
I change my favorite all the time, though.

I'm extremely pleased with how it came out, and since then I've made 2 more of this style of art.
And I would be interested in starting to sell them too!

Anyway, the moral of the story is:
Sometimes you picture something in your head and when you put it on paper (quite literally in this case, haha) it actually comes out even BETTER than you expected!

Talk again soon!
